No business can be grown, or product be made, or unicorn startup go public on the NYSE without it. Hiring is a foundational element of every company. Done right hiring the best people for the right roles, can be an unreplicable competitive advantage for your firm. Done wrong, mis-hires can, at best, cause loss of productivity, frustration and monetary losses—at worst, hiring the wrong people, or not hiring the right people, can destroy even the most promising company. Hiring well is part art, and part science. It is a process worth investing in, obsessing over and constantly improving on.
